For Oromos watchfully looking at the Oromo struggle, it may not be that new to hear the group led by ‘general’ Kemal Gelchu to take destructive decision and direction since it deserted to OLF in 2005. On January 1,2012 the group has announced that it’s forming alliance with Ginbot 7; and during the same time its representatives have clearly said it has given up struggling for independence of Oromia and that Article 39 of the Ethiopian Empire’s constitution that allows the right to self-determination has to be removed. They said that it was their new year’s gift to Ethiopia, a gift of giving up the cause of Oromia and expressing allegiance to an Empire built by oppression ,exploitation ,blood shed and massacre. The group literally took once again its role of serving historical enemies of the Oromo nation once under TPLF as OPDO and now under G7.

In 2008, this group stirred division in OLF on pretext of ‘change’ and bogus promise of liberating Oromia within 6 months. As being mentioned by the main and original OLF led by National Council,95% of this splinter group are now no more with the Jijirama OLF (Change-OLF); large number of the army led by Luco Bukura, the then vice chairman of Change-OLF had surrendered to EPRDF in 2010.

What the group now promises is democratization of Ethiopia and elimination of Federal States including Oromia State as their best thought over political agenda which is by far more than the precondition usually stipulated by G7 to make any meaningful alliance with any Oromo Political organization in the opposition block. This means OLF-Change deteriorated dramatically from agenda of liberating Oromia within 6months to finally giving up the Oromia independence struggle and eliminating even Oromia State, if got the chance, to safeguard Ethiopian Empire.

On the other hand, as the Oromo struggle has been protracted over a century this nation has paid innumerable sacrifices in forms of human lives, and property. As the result, tens of thousands of families have lost family members and loved ones; and almost all Oromo Communities and families have experienced persecution and the burden of lack of freedom. These sacrifices had never stopped the struggle but made it get deeper, broader and stronger every time that for us Oromos it’s not time to look back , give up the struggle and give in to lower outcomes . For us the struggle is in the last half of its course , closer to its climax .

Our nation has survived tremendous attempts by its enemies to destroy its independent political organizations and independent institutions . Now, the real OLF, more than any time is on the right track, strongly determined and is arming the Oromo youth who had already been paying sacrifices with bare hand or with pen and paper in schools , colleges and universities. Now they are getting armed and are boldly telling the enemy that by their blood and soul they will liberate Oromia how long and whatever it takes. OLA is growing in number and capacity and pledging it will continue and intensify its struggle until the occupying troops of the colonizer leaves Oromia.

Though OLF-Change led by Kemal Gelchu, Hailu Gonfa, Amin Jundi, and Nuro Dedefo is giving its back to Oromia and making disgraceful marriage to G7 to take a role of OPDO once again , Oromia’s struggle is getting cleaner from Trojan horses and is in a very good state to accomplish its goal of liberating Oromia. There is no giving up ; there is no compromise from the agenda of realizing the right to self-determination for the Oromo people- the right which is enshrined in Universal Human Rights declared by UN.

Injifannoon Uummata Oromoof!

We shall overcome!
